Who am I?

So, I’m Katie!

I’ve worked in the charity sector for most of my career. I believe my love of fundraising started during my schooling in Australia, when our school club was always looking for new projects to support. I’ve been silent for 40 hours, done a bungee jump, collected money from drivers at traffic lights, taken part in a 24-hour relay, all in aid of raising money for good causes.

I recently started my business ‘CEO Katie’, which is so named after my children proudly named me that after I was appointed to my first CEO role. While I still struggle to call myself a CEO, having it as my business name keeps it front and centre. This business name is all about what you see is what you get. I work at a strategic, big picture level, which can be lost when the day to day is busy.

What I enjoy most is supporting charities and teams when everything is overwhelming. Helping them step back and showing them the bigger picture, and guiding them on what is needed to be a professional charity. I get stuck in when required and love working with smaller teams, so I can build up relationships across the organisation.

Mentoring is important for me; I have had the benefit of many mentors over my career, and hope to continue this for many years to come. I have also provided mentoring to a number of amazing people who have grown so much over the years, and I am honoured to be part of that journey.

A little about me on a personal level… I value family time and enjoy rural living. I enjoy travelling and am always keen on a good deal. If you’re interested in working with me, or want a (virtual) coffee, drop me a note!
