A view over Herefordshire

Lockdown and Friends

I initially thought lockdown would be like every other time when it comes to friends – we still be sociable, just online rather than in person! However I’ve found this more of a struggle than I originally thought.

I’m an extrovert and like to be with people, see people in the flesh, and seeing people on a screen just isn’t the same! I’m finally (10/11?! weeks later) starting to struggle and want to see my friends.

I’m looking forward to getting back out again, seeing good friends for a picnic or drink, or just chilling together (for once not eating or drinking?!)! It’s a strange balance – I’ve got quite a few close friends, but I also feel like everyone will want to see so many people that I’ll be low on the priority list, and I don’t want to interrupt that time. Is that just because I don’t think very highly of myself, or is it because I am getting impatient? Who knows!

I recognise that we need to stick to the rules, and reduce the risk of this virus being spread any further and at a higher rate than it already is, but I also recognise that we need to all look after our mental health.

While I’m rubbish at it, please everyone, call out when you need to chat or need support. Your friends will love hearing from you! [Yes, pot, kettle, black and I need to listen to myself too – I’m working on that…!]
